How the beds split, because that is the real question
Every organizer asks "does it sleep 14" and the honest answer is that the number on the listing is the least useful fact about a reunion house. What matters is who gets a door. At lynxresort, five bedrooms break down as three king rooms, a queen room in the converted garage, and Bedroom 2, which is four queen bunk beds in one room. That is the layout a three-generation trip wants: the grandparents and two couples in the kings, the cousins in the bunk room, and the one aunt who needs quiet in the garage room with her own door. Twelve people, three bathrooms, all stocked.
When you compare houses, count the kings and count the bunk rooms. A 6-bedroom house listed as 10 beds may be six rooms each with a queen and a sofa bed, which is a very different weekend from one bunk room and five real bedrooms.
A yard that works for every age
The test is whether a child and a grandparent can both be happy outside at 3pm without anyone supervising. At lynxresort the answer is the mini golf course, which is seven holes built with real slopes and terrain rather than flat turf, and the pool, which is saltwater and has a child safety fence. There is giant chess, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4 and corn hole on the lawn, adult and kids' bikes for the lake streets, and hammocks. The fire pit and the outdoor movie screen take the evening: a 50,000 BTU propane fire table with Adirondack chairs, and a projector deck for the movie the kids pick.
The sauna, cold plunge and hot tub are the adults' part of the yard, and in practice that is how reunion groups use them: after the kids are down. The hot tub seats six and is always at 100°F. The indoor game room has an 8-foot billiard table and opens straight onto the patio, so the teenagers have somewhere that is not a bedroom.

We went on a family trip to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, and all 13 family members stayed very comfortably. The bed sheets and towels were freshly cleaned, and the bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen had been fully renovated, which made it very convenient to use. There were so many fun things to enjoy in the backyard, including the pool, that we were never bored even staying at the house all day. My parents were very happy, and we were all grateful to have such a meaningful and memorable family trip together.

Reunion logistics nobody tells you
Book the house before the flights; twelve people cannot change dates once the tickets are bought. Ask for the address early so the family member driving in can plan. Check the parking: lynxresort fits about three cars. Decide the food plan before arrival; a kitchen that seats ten at the table and four at the nook works for a group that cooks, and a hibachi chef at the house is an add-on we can arrange for the one big dinner. And check quiet hours, which in Lake Clarke Shores are 10pm to 9am, because a reunion's best hour is usually the one around the fire.

- Usually five or six, and the bedroom count matters less than how the beds are split. A house with several king rooms plus one bunk room lets the grandparents and the couples have doors that close while the cousins pile into one room, which is how lynxresort is laid out: three kings, a queen, and a bunk room of four queens.

- Palm Beach Zoo and the Cox Science Center are about 12 minutes from Lake Clarke Shores, the public beach the same, Palm Beach Island and Worth Avenue about 15, and public lake access with kayaking is 5 minutes. Most reunion groups spend more time in the yard than they planned to.
